Internal Staff Resources

Require dual drainage plumbing in residential dwellings

Require dual drainage plumbing to enable graywater diversion into a future graywater irrigation system.

Require onsite non-potable water reuse in nonresidential new development

For nonresidential new development over a specified size threshold, require dual plumbing systems to allow the use of alternate water sources (recycled water and treated non-potable water) for irrigation, toilet flushing, and cooling towers.

When new development is projected to exceed historical water use of a parcel, require the developer to offset new water demand by paying for installation of water efficient fixtures and fittings at existing properties elsewhere within the city.
